‘The Weakest Link’ will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer later this year, with host Romesh Ranganathan returning for the fourth time.

The BBC Studios Entertainment quiz show will feature another star-studded line-up of celebrity contestants. They will battle it out in one of the world’s most iconic quizzes, where the celebrities work as a team to build a cash prize for charity whilst trying to avoid the walk of shame and being voted ‘The Weakest Link’ by their fellow contestants. Only one player will be crowned The Strongest Link and secure the prize for charity.

The new series will feature a number of special themed episodes including ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, comedians, ‘Gladiators’, and duos, with more to be announced.

Romesh says: “It’s really a delight to be part of the BBC One Saturday night experience. I once again look forward to taking the credit if it goes well and blaming the format if it doesn’t.”

Pete Ogden, Executive Producer BBC Studios Entertainment Productions says: “We’re so excited to be back with another series of ‘The Weakest Link’ to entertain the nation with on a Saturday night. With the amazing Romesh back at the helm, we know there will be lots of laughs. We have some fantastic special episodes lined up for this series and can’t wait to put our stellar line up of celebrity contestants to the test, for excellent causes.”

The new series begins filming in Glasgow this Spring, with ‘The Weakest Link’ returning to BBC One and BBC iPlayer later this year. Details of the celebrity contestants will be confirmed in due course.
