The Last Of Us Star Bella Ramsey Wants To Play A Villain Like The Joker

Bella Ramsey wants to play a villain, and specifically, the Last of Us star would like to play the Joker. Speaking to Ladbible, Ramsey said they want to play not just any villain, but a “really interesting, intricate, complex baddy.”

“I’ve not really played a villain yet. So I want to play a baddy,” Ramsey said.

Asked if Ramsey would want to play the Joker, the iconic DC villain, Ramsey said, “I was actually thinking that as well. The Joker, someone really interesting like that.”

Others who have have played the Joker over the years have included Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, and Joaquin Phoenix. Phoenix even won an Oscar for his performance in Joker.

Ramsey is best known for playing Ellie in The Last of Us and and Lyana Mormont in Game of Thrones, both of which are HBO shows.

Also in the interview, Ramsey said their part in the BBC series Time, portraying a drug addict in prison, was their “toughest role yet.”

“By far the hardest in terms of like, the subject matter. And also, there were just big days on set, big, fast, long days,” Ramsey said.

Ramsey will soon return to set to play Ellie again in The Last of Us Season 2, as filming is set to begin in January 2024. The show itself is set to premiere in 2025 at the soonest.

As for the Last of Us game series, Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann recently said he would not comment on the Last of Us multiplayer game or a hypothetical Last of Us 3. However, he said Naughty Dog has “other projects” in the works, including the upcoming remaster of The Last of Us: Part II for PS5.
