With only one day left to go until the release of The Dark Pictures: The Devil In Me, an early copy of the game has revealed the next entry in the anthology series as ‘Directive 8020’. A short teaser trailer was shown during the closing credits of The Devil In Me, in a similar fashion to how Supermassive Games have done in past titles, revealing details on Directive 8020.

The short trailer can be viewed on various YouTube channels, such as Game Trailers, and begins with a voice-over from a character known as Commander Stafford of the forward reconnaissance vessel Cassiopeia. After a short voice-over by Commander Stafford, a distressed voice from Thomas Carter can be heard, stating that “something’s wrong with Simms, she’s trying to kill me”.

The first logo for The Dark Pictures: Directive 8020 then appears on the screen, which will mark the beginning of ‘Season Two’. Supermassive Games are yet to officially announce the new title, so an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed by the developers as of writing. But, with the release of The Devil In Me coming up on November 18th, fans will be able to check out the trailer for themselves during the closing credits.

Directive 8020 has been suspected to be the next entry in The Dark Pictures anthology for quite some time after the developers trademarked five new titles earlier this year. Alongside Directive 8020, The Craven Man, O Death, Intercession, and Winterfold were all trademarked and will likely be upcoming entries in the anthology series.

The Dark Pictures: The Devil In Me will release this Friday, and Supermassive Games have even confirmed the exact release time for regions around the world. As per the game’s official Twitter account, The Devil In Me will release simultaneously on both consoles and PC at Midnight UTC. A full release time schedule can be found here.
