Phase 1

Like all boss fights in The Cosmic Shake, the battle against Squidward and Kassandra is broken into phases. The first phase drops SpongeBob into a net-shaped arena within a void between realities, with the ground composed of sand, wood, and props from the various alternate realities SpongeBob has previously ventured into during the game. Avoiding bombardments of Jelly Slime and incoming Jelly Monsters, players will grab another convenient ReefBlower and suck up crates and low-tier enemies to build up the blower’s charge shot meter. Landing a blow on Kassandra, the Reefblower is lost, and Kassandra changes tactics. The Reefblower’s projectile is targeting, so don’t worry about accuracy; as long as the Reefblower prompt is above Kassandra’s head when SpongeBob fires, it will hit its mark.

Phase 2

Squidward will now send out multi-layered jelly shockwaves that players will have to bob and weave across to avoid damage, and stronger Jelly Monsters will spawn alongside the next Reefblower. Players will have to deal with Boxing and Hovering Jelly Monsters for the rest of the fight at this point.

Once acquired, SpongeBob has to again suck up enough enemies to ready a charge shot. Maintaining distance from incoming Jelly Slime will be the greatest challenge, as Squidward will fire it in prolonged volleys on and around SpongeBob, which can cut off the route players were taking and force them to take a hit or try and jump around the slime. With another blow landed once the Reefblower is loaded, phase 3 begins.

Phase 3

Phase 3 starts with an increasing barrage of jelly shockwave attacks to look out for, but there’s a steady supply of spare underwear in the arena to refill SpongeBob’s health, so players shouldn’t worry about a few stray hits landing. With one last Reefblower dropping into the fight, players need to ready one last charge shot to defeat Kassandra and save Bikini Bottom. With one last shot, Kassandra is defeated, Squidward is returned to normal, and the day is saved.

With a wish being gifted to SpongeBob by King Neptune, Patrick inadvertently uses it to wish the world into a cycle, ensuring that Jelly-crazed adventures will keep happening and the wild worlds where players have been to can be revisited again and again. As ‘Sweet Victory’ rolls over the credits, players can sit back and enjoy a hard-earned victory.
