The Brand-New Resident Evil Board Game Is On Sale At Amazon

Why wait for Capcom to make a remake of the remake of the first Resident Evil game, when you can do it yourself? That’s kind of the pitch for Resident Evil: The Board Game, which will allow you to step into the tactical boots of Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Rebecca Chambers, or Barry Burton as you explore the Spencer Mansion and try to avoid becoming a Jill Sandwich in the process. The game launched earlier this month and is already on sale at Amazon for $86, down from its $100 list price.

Resident Evil: The Board Game

Inspired by the 2002 remake of Resident Evil, this board game gives you 19 spine-tingling scenarios filled with horrifying surprises and fiendish puzzles as part of your campaign. Like the video game, you’ll need to make tough choices that alter the course of your campaign, carefully manage resources, and make every bullet count.

As your campaign continues, the mansion will evolve and become more dangerous. The tension and encounter decks will change, adding mysterious new cards and altering the effects of older cards to make them even more lethal. This game is designed for two to four players, but if you’re feeling brave, it can be tackled as a standalone experience.

Inside the box, you’ll get the handsome game board, rulebook, cards, additional pieces, and plenty of ghoulish biohazard pieces that you’ll have to survive against.

Resident Evil: The Board Game isn’t the first tabletop experience based on the franchise. In fact, there are several others from Steamforged Games, including adaptations based on Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3.

Sticking with the horror theme, hundreds of games in the genre are on sale at Fanatical (a GameSpot sister site). This includes some of Resident Evil’s greatest hits like this year’s Resident Evil 4 remake for $51 (normally $60).
