Void is arguably the best subclass in Destiny 2 and the best Void Hunter build is proof of that. In Season of the Deep, this Void Hunter build relies on infinite invisibility, infinite volatile rounds, infinite Devour, all while creating overshields. Basically, this Void Hunter build is insanely good for solo and higher tier content like Dungeons. Here is the best Void Hunter build in Destiny 2 right now.

Best Void Hunter build in Destiny 2 Season of the Deep, explained

The playstyle of this Destiny 2 Void Hunter build is to use your Dodge to go invisible. Kill one enemy to get volatile rounds which then spawns Orbs of Power and Void Breaches, and you’ll also go invisible again. Pick up the Void Breach to get an overshield, get Devour, and lower the cooldown on your Dodge. That’s the loop.

In theory, you’ll constantly be invisible thanks to Stylish Executioner and Vanishing Step, you’ll always have health and an overshield thanks to Void Breaches granting Devour and overshield, and you’ll have volatile rounds thanks to Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk. Overall, you’ll be an add-killing machine that’ll never die.

Necessary Void Hunter seasonal perks in Destiny 2 Season of the Deep

While this Void Hunter build is always good, there are four Seasonal Artifact perks that make it incredible in PvP and PvE. Here are the necessary Void perks for the best Void Hunter:

  • Authorized Mods: Void – The armor energy costs of all armor mods affecting your Void weapons are significantly discounted.
  • Unto the Breach – Defeating a Void debuffed target creates a Void Breach while your Void subclass is equipped.
  • Protective Breach – Picking up a Void Breach gives you an overshield or refreshes your existing overshield.
  • Supernova – Picking up a Void Breach causes your next source of Void damage to create a large weakening pulse.

Authorized Mods: Void make your Void armor mods cost one energy instead of three. Unto the Breach allows for more Void Breaches.

Protective Breach is what gives you an overshield on Void Breach pickup. Supernova creates a weakening pulse on the next source of Void damage after picking up a Void Breach.

With all of these Season of the Deep Void perks, the best Void Hunter build got a lot better. Be sure to pick up Void Breaches whenever you see them.

Best Void Hunter Aspects and Fragments

  • Aspects
    • Stylish Executioner – Defeating a weakened, suppressed, or volatile target grants invisibility and truesight. After performing Stylish Executioner, your next melee attack while invisible weakens targets.
    • Vanishing Step – Dodging makes you invisible.
  • Fragments
    • Echo of Starvation – Picking up a Void Breach or an Orb of Power grants Devour. -10 Recovery.
    • Echo of Persistence – Void buffs applied to your (invisible, overshield, and Devour) have increased duration. -10 Mobility.
    • Echo of Cessation – Finishers cause Void damage that makes nearby enemies volatile. Defeating volatile enemies creates a Void Breach.
    • Echo of Harvest – Defeating weakened targets creates an Orb of Power and a Void Breach. -10 Intellect.

Central to this Void Hunter build is going invisible with Vanishing Step and Stylish Executioner. With Harvest and Cessation, you’ll create more Void Breaches which procs everything — more invisibility, overshields, volatile rounds, and Devour thanks to Starvation. Persistence lets you be invisible for longer, which is key.

Best Void Hunter Abilities

  • Shadowshot: Deadfall
  • Any jump you want
  • Any Dodge you want
  • Snare Bomb
  • Vortex Grenade

In all honestly, there are no mandatory abilities for this Void Hunter build. This build relies heavily on the Aspects and Fragments as well as the Exotic Armor and your choice of Void weapon.

Use whichever Super you want, but Shadowshot: Deadshot is great in any PvE situation and has the lowest cooldown. I like Triple Jump as it gives me extra wiggle room while traversing. Gambit’s Dodge is my preferred Dodge as it recharges my Melee which makes for more chances to become invisible. Lastly, Vortex Grenade is best for add clearing which is what this build excels at.

Best Void Hunter Exotic Armor, weapons, and mods

  • Exotic Armor
    • Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk – Your Void weapons gain volatile rounds when emerging from invisible. If you use a finisher while invisible, all your weapons gain bonus damage and you and nearby allies gain a reserve overshield, which is proc’d by using the class ability, and they get improved class ability regeneration.
  • Weapons
    • Any Void weapon, like Funnelweb. Le Monarque.
  • Mods
    • Helmet – Void Siphon, Heavy Ammo Finder.
    • Arms – Firepower, Bolstering Detonation, Void Loader.
    • Chest – Concussive Dampener and any subclass damage reduction mod.
    • Legs – Absolution, Insulation
    • Class Item – Three stacks of Utility Kickstart.

There are a lot of great Exotic armor options for the Void Hunter build, but the best is Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk. With Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk, you’ll always get volatile rounds since you’ll almost always be invisible.

From there, the Le Monarque Exotic Void Bow pairs really nicely here as well as any Void weapon, like Funnelweb for example.

For the mods, you’ll want Void Siphon to create more Orbs of Power on Void kills and Heavy Ammo Finder is always good. For the arms, there isn’t anything excellent, but Firepower and Bolstering Detonation help your grenades out and Void Loader makes your Void weapon reload faster.

Chest mods are all about damage reduction, so put on whatever you like as well as Concussive Dampener to take less up close and personal damage. Absolution and Insulation reduce your abilities and class cooldown which allows you to access invisibility more often. Lastly, three stacks of Utility Kickstart grant even more energy to your class ability, which means you’ll have around five seconds of cooldown before you can go invisible again.
