The update grants players four extra rerolls.
Teamfight Tactics has announced that Hero Augments will be revamped in Patch 13.3. The improvements are set to arrive on February 8.
Despite the recent cyberattack on Riot Games, which affected the development environment of League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics, Patch 13.3 will be released on the scheduled date. Teamfight Tactics shared in a tweet that “larger-scale trait reworks” were moved from Patch 13.2 to Patch 13.3 due to the attack. While further details on the trait reworks have yet to be revealed, Stephen Mortimer, Lead Designer of Teamfight Tactics, shared new details about the upcoming patch’s Hero Augment update in a series of tweets.
Come Patch 13.3, Teamfight Tactics will grant players four rerolls for Hero Augments, affording more chances to get the ideal picks. Mortimer explains that the update is due to player feedback. In Set 8, Teamfight Tactics players have experienced frustration finding Hero Augments that are suitable for their composition. Mortimer also notes that many players only have a limited time to play Teamfight Tactics, so the development team aims to ensure players have an overall enjoyable experience.
The four additional rerolls will be separate from the one augment reroll that players already received. As players will be able to view up to 15 different Hero Augments each time with the extra rerolls, the chances of getting the optimal augment are greatly improved.
Mortimer includes more specific details about which Hero Augments will appear. “2-1 Hero augments will still be full random, but you should get a lot of things to choose from now,” Mortimer stated. “3-2/4-2 Hero augments will still be tailored, so it’s extremely likely to hit what you are looking for.”
Reception to the change has primarily been positive on social media. Teamfight Tactics players expressed their excitement for the Patch 13.3 revamp, with some stating that they felt the success of their team depended too heavily on synergy with the Hero Augments. However, other players felt that adding four extra rerolls is excessive and might enable one-trick players.
