A new limited-time game mode, Fortune’s Favor, is coming to Teamfight Tactics. Fortune’s Favor will be available until the conclusion of the Lunar Gala on February 9.
Today marks the beginning of the Lunar Gala, a celebration of the Lunar New Year in Teamfight Tactics. By completing missions, players can assist Chibi Panda Annie as she tries to throw a party at the House of the Golden Rabbit and deal with party-crasher Aurelion Sol. The Lunar Gala interactive hub features 15 missions that grant 1600 Pass XP, 100 Star Shards, one Emote, and one Little Legends Egg in rewards.
Communications Lead Rodger Caudill provides an overview of Fortune’s Favor in a Game Updates post on the Riot Games website. The new game mode introduces changes to the first draft and loot drops throughout the stages. In the first carousel, players can choose from all 5-cost or 4-cost champions. This affords players the opportunity to nab a carry early in the game. “Fortune’s Favor is like playing TFT, except every board is a Youtube clickbait comp—you’ll never believe the power of the boards you can create until you actually create them,” Caudill states.
In every stage, the Golden Bun Bun will grant loot orbs that contain anything from gold, training dummies, and items removers to powerful items forged by Ornn, the Tome of Traits, and even Champions. The quantity of orbs will increase as the stages progress, beginning with three orbs in the first stage. In stage five, the Golden Bun Bun will gift the player seven orbs. To maintain an even playing field, all players will receive the same power level of loot orbs. The Golden Bun Bun is especially generous to players who drop below 50 Tactician Health. At this point, the Golden Bun Bun will deposit a Golden Orb, containing mystery loot, onto the player’s board.
Aside from a new game mode, Teamfight Tactics is offering a variety of in-game cosmetics to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The face of Teamfight Tactics’ social media teasers for Lunar Gala, Lion Dancer Poggles is the newest Mythic Little Legend. By purchasing a Penthouse Party Box, players have a 5% chance of receiving Lion Dancer Poggles. The House of the Golden Rabbit, an arena skin featuring a jade floor and a golden rabbit in the center, can be purchased individually for 390 RP or found in a Penthouse Party Box at a 2% drop rate. Just as rare, the new Chibi Panda Annie Tactician, accompanied by Panda Choncc, is a drop from the Riches of the Rabbit. Both the House of the Golden Rabbit and Chibi Panda Annie are available as a “pity drop” on the 61st Penthouse Party Box or Riches of the Rabbit, respectively.
Many more cosmetics will be available for the duration of the Lunar Gala in Teamfight Tactics, including Bun Bun, Melisma, and Gloop variants. Players should snag their favorite arena skins, Tacticians, and Little Legends and try out Fortune’s Favor before the Lunar New Year festivities wrap up with the start of Patch 13.3.
