Summer Games Fest 2022 is happening in June

It’s almost time for shorts weather, farmer tans, and (hopefully) loads of video game reveals courtesy of our old pal Geoff Keighley. That’s right, Summer Games Fest Live is coming back.

On Thursday, Keighley announced that Summer Games Fest Live 2022 will air on June 9 at 11:00 A.M. PDT // 2:00 P.M. EDT // 6:00 P.M. GMT. There’s no word what might be at the show, but given heavy-hitters like Elden Ring and Death Stranding: Director’s Cut were revealed at Summer Games Fest, there’ll likely be cool stuff yet again. Host and producer Geoff Keighley sounds jazzed about it, anyway — especially since this year’s showcase will be watchable on IMAX. So will this year’s Game Awards show!

“Video games are the most powerful, immersive and spectacular form of entertainment in the world, so it’s only natural to bring them to fans in IMAX, the world’s most immersive cinema format,” Keighley said in a press release.

Tickets for the IMAX showings go on sale May 12, 2022.

“We are thrilled to be a part of these rapidly growing events,” Megan Colligan, IMAX Entertainment president, said in a press release. “The two video game events are a part of IMAX’s continued efforts to diversify its content portfolio with more live and interactive events and we are looking forward to being a part of them for years to come.”

With E3 canceled this year, Summer Games Fest will likely have tons of world premieres. However, Xbox and Bethesda’s big showcase will likely have some brilliant stuff too.
