Strictly Come Dancing’s Les Dennis dealt crushing blow ahead of series launch | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV
Former Family Fortunes presenter Les Dennis was the final celebrity to be named as part of this year’s line-up for Strictly Come Dancing 2023.
According to the bookies, his odds of winning the series are currently placed a depressing 33/1.
Meanwhile, EastEnders’ actor Bobby Brazier is the 4/1 favourite to win the ballroom dancing show, closely followed by West End star Layton Williams at 5/1.
Nikita Kanda follows at 6/1 and Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach and Angela Scanlon are 8/1 to win, while former Love Island star Zara McDermott is 10/1 and soap actor Adam Thomas is 16/1.
Paralympian Jody Cundy’s odds are stacked at 20/1, and Angela Rippon, Eddie Kadi and Amanda Abbington are 33/1 outsiders.
The biggest outsider as it stands is journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy the biggest outsider at 100/1.
A BonusCodeBets spokesperson shared: “TV legend Les Dennis became the latest name to be added to the star-studded Strictly Come Dancing line-up but the bookies haven’t handed him the best chance of winning by making him 33/1 to go all the way and seal a memorable victory.
“Bobby Brazier is the 4/1 favourite to win with Layton Williams hot on his heels at 5/1.”
Les, 69, began his career as a comedian on the Working Men’s Club circuit in and around Liverpool where he hails.
He got his television break on the talent show New Faces and went on to star in The Laughter Show with Dustin Gee.
Les has starred in a range of television shows as extras including, Brookside, Coronation Street, Death in Paradise and Midsomer Murders.
His Strictly news was officially announced on Friday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be doing this iconic wonderful show as I approach my 70th birthday.
“In my career, I’ve always gone for challenges outside my comfort zone and this is the ultimate one! Can’t wait.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One this autumn.
