Atlus has announced that Soul Hackers 2 will receive a free update, adding several new features. The update will introduce four new demons, a high-speed combat mode, and dashing.
Although the developer has not provided a firm release date for the update, it will go live sometime in November. Alongside minor changes aimed at improving player experience, Atlus is also shifting the mechanics of the game, adding a dashing function and high-speed mode that will increase the tempo of the combat.
The official blog post provides additional details on the new dashing mechanic. The dash will specifically be added to Ringo’s kit, enabling her to roam around faster. Moreover, players can switch between dashing and normal mode as they please.
With the addition of the dash function, the effect of the summoner skill Assassin’s Steps has been changed to be more stealth-focused. The forthcoming update also introduces four new companions: Pixie, Neko Shogun, Aitvaras, and Isis. Players will encounter these characters at the end of their campaigns.
However, the most exciting part of the update is that Atlus is gearing up to introduce a high-speed mode, changing gameplay for the sake of player experience. With the hopes of increasing the frequency of enemy appearance in dungeons, the high-speed mode offers an intense combat experience, allowing players to inherit skills faster when combined against demons. Other adjustments that will come with the update include ‘loading tips’ to speed up loading time. There are also minor adjustments that address bugs for a smooth experience. The Soul Hackers 2 update is releasing some time in November, with no official release date provided as of yet.
