The Kingdom Hearts series is known for having some beautiful design elements for enemies as well as the locations players journey through. Another part that tends to be very well done is Sora’s outfit changes in each game and when he travels to certain worlds.
Some of Sora’s outfits change when he changes his form, and we’ll be including that in the list as well. Anyway, these are some of the most stylish or all-around interesting outfits the series provides for the character.
10 Sora Standard Outfit – Kingdom Hearts 3
The Sora standard outfit in Kingdom Hearts 3 has to be the best standard outfit that Sora has had so far, as it feels like the designers took all the best parts of Sora’s previous outfits and mixed them together. The zippers from the original design and the heavy blacks from Kingdom Hearts 2 are in the outfit. Even after being a little dulled down, the red Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance looks great.
The checkerboard pattern that was added to many of the characters in this game is also a nice touch. The best part of the outfit has to be the fact that they tightened the outfit up to make it look a lot less clownish and a lot more staggering in its presentation.
9 Antiform – Kingdom Hearts 2
Antiform is a cool version of Sora that shows up in Kingdom Hearts 2. It’s not really an outfit but more of an entire transformation, but this is Kingdom hearts, so just like some other character transformations, it will be treated like an outfit. A cool demon heartless monster man Sora outfit.
This Sora version was meant to be a failsafe in the game, as the developers wanted some sort of consequence for players constantly going into a different drive form. So, the form doubles Sora’s speed, but he also takes double the damage.
8 Toy Box Outfit – Kingdom Hearts 3
The Toy Box outfit from Kingdom Hearts 3 turns Sora into a Bionicle-looking toy. He looks like each different part of his clothing and body was built and put together. It was a good way of placing him into this world as they could’ve gone with making him similar to other toys in the series.
Every part of him looks blocky and jagged, which makes his appearance belong in the oversized world of the toys. The design is fun as it introduces a childlike joy to the game by having players feel like they’re living out their imaginations by playing with toys in magnificent battles.
7 Space Paranoids Outfit – Kingdom Hearts 2
Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance had a Tron-type world with a different outfit, but that outfit is nowhere near as cool as the one that was presented in Kingdom Hearts 2. The one in Kingdom Hearts 2 is designed to make Sora look like he is part of this world’s code.
Sora has a gorgeous neon glowing aura around him. He, in a sense, loses a lot of the humanity in his features while remaining true to his initial character design.
6 Pride Lands Outfit – Kingdom Hearts 2
This outfit transforms Sora into a lion cub, which is absolutely adorable. Unlike some other similar outfits, like the merman transformation in Kingdom Hearts 1 (that’s horrific to control), Pride Lands outfit is extremely useful in the world,
The Lion Cub outfit keeps the crown necklace on Sora. On top of changing him, the transformation boosts his stats by making him a lot quicker to take on the large expansive areas on the map.
5 The Caribbean Outfit – Kingdom Hearts 3
The Pirates of the Caribbean outfit in Kingdom Hearts 3 is one of the coolest-looking outfits in the game series that does not involve any large transformations. It turns Sora into a more realistic version to fit into the Caribbean atmosphere but also makes him more rugged.
Looking at Sora in the outfit turns him into a believable pirate that looks as though he would be at the forefront of his boat, leading his pirate crew to victory.
4 Timeless River Outfit – Kingdom Hearts 2
The Timeless River outfit change is like many others on this list, as it also does a complete rehaul of Sora’s design to make him fit the theme of the world he inhabits. Here, Sora is in the Timeless River world, so everything goes back to the era of the Steamboat Willie cartoon.
This area gives Sora the 1930s rubber hose style, like cartoons from that era. The outfit transforms him to fit fully into the world. His outfit is also very reminiscent of the one in the first Kingdom Hearts game, but this one is a little dulled down.
3 Monstropolis Outfit – Kingdom Hearts 3
The Monstropolis Sora outfit from Kingdom Hearts 3 is an outfit that completely transforms Sora into a Monsters Inc. character. This is done charmingly as Sora gains a gray furry coat that has black horizontal lines on his legs and arms.
Sora’s hair on his head is peculiar, as it doesn’t seem to be actual hair. It looks like a bunch of pointy sea creatures placed on top of one another to give the appearance of hair, making Sora much more monster-like.
2 Halloween Town Outfit – Kingdom Hearts
One of the most aesthetically interesting-looking outfits in the Kingdom Hearts series that doesn’t completely change Sora is his Halloween Town outfit from the first game. The designers did a wonderful job making Sora look like a vampiric harlequin.
The dark tones of the outfit fit with the world, and when he gets the world’s respective Keyblade, everything feels well-connected. The design is also a lot more jagged, making it for an edgy piece of clothing in a spookier Kingdom Hearts world.
1 Final Form Outfit – Kingdom Hearts 2
Final Form in Kingdom Hearts 2 has to be the most beautiful design for Sora that will have players feeling like they’ve unlocked the highest level of power for the character. Not only is Sora floating while he’s in this form, but he also has two of his Keyblades rotating in the air on his back. It’s a beautiful site to behold.
The black and white color scheme is also well-interwoven with his outfit, as the colors perfectly accentuate the outfit’s patterns.
