Skyforge is celebrating its ninth anniversary with the return of Aelion Day

Here’s some happy news for your Thursday: Skyforge has made it to nine years of life here in North America, or close enough as makes no difference, as Aelion Day has arrived.

Now, technically Skyforge launched July 16th, 2015, after a series of betas and early access periods that ran throughout the year. I used to think that maybe the anniversary referred to the Russian launch, but that was apparently February 2015. And the team does indeed call this the anniversary. So really, I have no idea why Aelion Day has traditionally run in April.

Of course, I’m typing this in May, so this year’s is seemingly a bit delayed, perhaps owing to the development lapse earlier this year – but it’s here.

“It’s time for a celebration! We invite everyone to take part in the Aelion Day event,” MY.GAMES says. “From to May 2 to May 16 on PC and Nintendo Switch and for two weeks after the next maintenance on PS and Xbox, immortals remember the glory days of the past, great discoveries, and scientific achievements.”

“You must be used to rescuing mortals by now, but during the celebrations, they say that each mortal rescued increases your chances of receiving a prophecy — an item that contains a mysterious message. Decipher the message and fulfill the conditions it sets, and you will receive Threads of Destiny, which can be exchanged for goods in the Market. Some new goods to keep an eye out for are a new costumes and wings. Among the holiday goods you’ll also find rewards from previous holidays too! You may hold up to three prophecies at a time and you can sell them to gain new prophecies if you’re struggling with a hard one. There are different levels of prophecy: normal, great, and special. The more normal prophecies you fulfill, the more likely you are to get a great prophecy. Special prophecies are quite rare and give better rewards!”
