The hunt begins on February 16 with enhanced performance and two new game modes.
Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition is a new enhanced version of the original game heading to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 16, including new in-game content as well as true 4K resolution support with two different graphics options.
Coming as a free upgrade for current owners of the game, the new update will bring two new game modes: Survival and Hero. The former will be unlocked once you finish the campaign, including three different battle arenas and three unique skins up for grabs, challenging you to show your battle skills. The latter, on the other hand, is a hardcore modifier where the number of respawns for the player is limited, and you can only earn more by performing perfect finishers. As soon as you run out of respawns, your entire progress will be lost.
Players can also expect a new hardcore difficulty level for the main campaign, suggested for those who prefer a nightmarish experience with tougher fights. Players can combine this new hardcore difficulty with the New Game Plus experience, unlocking new challenges, rewards, and skins while exploring the game’s world for the second time. Also, with the addition of the Chapter Select feature, you can go back to grab the rewards you may have missed earlier or just relive the key moments of Lo Wang’s adventure.
Last but not least, the patch also adds graphical improvements to the game, thanks to the powerful hardware of new consoles. You can either choose to play in the quality mode with true 4K resolution and frame rate cap of 30 or select the performance mode to boost your frame rate to 60 and lower the resolution.
Shadow Warrior 3 was originally launched in early 2022 for last-gen consoles and PC. Developed by the same team behind Evil West, Shadow Warrior 3 is a light-hearted inspiration from the Doom franchise, delivering a bloody and violent first-person shooter experience where you get to slash poor demons.
Along with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition will also be coming to PC on February 16.
