The security guard who was seen arguing with Kelly Rowland on the Cannes red carpet last week has been caught up in another spat with Dominican actor Massiel Taveras.

Last week, the former Destiny’s Child star was attending the premiere of the film Marcello Mio, a French-Italian comedy written and directed by Christopher Honoré.

Footage from the event revealed that Rowland got involved in a heated exchange with the female usher, who appeared to be guiding her into the venue before the singer raised a finger and seemingly engaged in a verbal dispute.

Rowland later addressed the incident with the Associated Press on the red carpet of Cannes’ amfAR gala event. “The woman knows what happened. I know what happened,” she said. “I have a boundary. And I stand by those boundaries. And that is it.”

Now, the same security guard has been involved in another incident with Dominican actor and presenter Taveras, who was attending the premiere of the French film The Count of Monte Cristo at the French film festival on May 22.

As the star was posing on the stairs of the red carpet, footage shows Taveras trying to unfurl the train of her dress to reveal an image of Jesus Christ.

However the security guard was seen ushering her towards the venue as the actor tried to pose for photos. At one point, the guard appeared to put her hand on Taveras’ back to move her along, before the actor shoved her away and exchanged some heated words.

The actor has since responded to the incident and the subsequent news coverage on her social media, writing: “I want to thank all of you for this incredible support, today more than ever we need to stay together, suport eachether protect our souls , have strong boundaries and stand for our rights, let’s show some love and respect to the extraordinary @kellyrowland a pure soul, a talented, classy, educated woman of color that represents with respect all of US.”

She continued: “I’m impressed how you handled sister I didn’t now that happened to you first I was very impressed how calm and genteel you wr because in my case I was tired
of the abuse. -BLACK WOMAN MATTERS- we are not going to be in silence on situations like that, we need respect it’s enough. I hug you queen #kellyrowland, thanks for giving us sooo much god bless your heart.”

After Rowland’s own incident, she responded that there were “other women that attended that carpet who did not quite look like me and they didn’t get scolded, or pushed off, or told to get off. I stood my ground and she felt like she had to stand hers. But I stood my ground. And that was it.”

K-pop star and actor Yoona was also recorded being ushered along in the same way from the same security guard.
