It’s been one long, difficult road for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake and things still don’t look great.

On Tuesday, Ubisoft announced that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will be handled by its Montréal studio from here on out.

“The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montréal, the very birthplace of the epic Sands of Time trilogy,” Ubisoft’s statement reads on Twitter. “This decision is an important step and the team, building upon the work achieved by Ubisoft Prune and Ubisoft Mumbai, will now take the time they need to regroup on the scope of the game to deliver you the best experience for this remake of an all-time classic, when it’s ready.”

“We want to thank you all for your continuous support and patience throughout the development,” Ubisoft continues. “Rest assured, that we will update you on the progress in a future update.”

The last major update on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake came over a year ago when Ubisoft delayed the game indefinitely. It doesn’t sound like things are going well with this project thus far.

Ubisoft’s other mysterious project, Skull & Bones, is also having issues. While the next Ghost Recon is still a long way off, and Breakpoint isn’t getting content updates anymore. Top this all off with NFT backlashes, and Ubisoft isn’t having the best year.
