Rise of the Ronin Surpassed The Nioh Saga In Sales During Its First Months of Release

Rise of the Ronin is outperforming Nioh and Nioh 2 in sales, according to Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo. This is surprising news given the lukewarm reception of the game, although we absolutely recommended it in our Rise of the Ronin Review.

Rise of The Ronin Had a Great Start In Sales

Recently launched in March and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the PlayStation 5 exclusive game is experiencing a faster sales pace than the first two games in the Nioh saga, although specific numbers were not provided.

However, the latest game from Team Ninja didn’t arrive in an easy period, as it was released amidst much activity, with the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launching a few weeks before its release and also being exclusive to Sony’s console. Moreover, the game shared its launch date with Dragon’s Dogma 2, a highly anticipated sequel.

Given this positive outcome, speculation has begun about the possible arrival of the title on PC in the medium or short term to expand the user base interested in acquiring the game.

As supplementary news, it was announced that the Nioh franchise reached 7 million units sold in October 2022. However, they did not clarify the figures considering each game in the series. Additionally, they did not share the numbers for the remaster of the first installment.

With expected new downloadable content and constant updates to improve and fix errors, Rise of the Ronin is likely to position itself as one of the best games from Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo.
