The Re: Zero – Starting Life In Another World – TV anime is based on Tappei Nagatsuki’s light novel series that has been ongoing on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website since April 2012. The first season made its debut in April 2016, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Afterwards, the anime’s second season premiered in July 2020 after a slight delay due to the effects of COVID-19. It was separated into two parts, with the latter airing in January 2021. Crunchyroll streamed the second season for international audiences as it aired in Japan.

In addition, another two anime (OVA) volumes inspired by the Re: Zero anime premiered three years ago, titled Re: Zero – Starting Life In Another World – Memory Snow and The Frozen World. Crunchyroll also streamed both series as they aired in Japan.

Fans can likely expect the same cast members to reprise their roles in the third season, although this has yet to be confirmed. Rei Takanashi and Yusuke Kobayashi were in the role of Emilia and Subaru Natsuki, respectively. Masaharu Watanabe was in charge of directing the anime with Masahiro Yokotani composing the series. Additional cast members also included Chinatsu Akasaki as Felt, Inori Minase as Rem, Kana Ueda as Anastasia Hoshin, and Keiji Fujiwara as AI. There remains the possibility that some cast and staff members will change in the production house.

Kadokawa has also announced at the stage that the Re: Zero anime series will receive a mobile game adaptation, titled Witch’s Re: Surrection. However, additional details about the gameplay and release date have not been revealed yet.
