After a stellar career at Housemarque, Harry Krueger is ready to move on to the next adventure in his life.

In the announcement by Housemarque, Krueger is thanked for the work he has done, especially with Returnal, which played a large role in catapulting the studio from a small group of Finnish creators to a first-party Sony partner. Krueger also reflects on this and expresses pride in all the accomplishments his team has earned.

Ilari Kuittinen, who is the General Manager and Co-Founder of Housemarque, also comments on Krueger’s departure. He claims Krueger’s “passion and direction have been vital” for the studio which has endured the death and rebirth of the “Arcade”.

Although Krueger doesn’t explain what prompted the departure, he states that it was a difficult decision. He is also confident that the studio has a bright future ahead, as it has “an exciting new project in the works, a fantastic team that’s stronger than ever, and the continuous support of Sony and PlayStation Studios.”

Krueger isn’t the only notable industry figure who has stepped down from a long-held position. Pete Hines announced his departure from Bethesda not long after Starfield‘s launch, and Activision Blizzard’s Bobby Kotick is also preparing to leave after 32 years with the gaming giant.
