Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Meredith updated her 470,000 followers on Instagram after being involved in a truly terrifying car crash. She said she was “beyond happy to be alive and well” after the car she was travelling in almost plunged off a snowy cliff in Utah on Thursday morning.

The reality TV star was travelling with her pal Kathy Prounis when the black SUV they were in began losing control in the bad weather conditions.

They were being driven through Park City when the pair decided to snap a smiley selfie, not knowing what was to happen just moments later.

According to Marks, their driver managed to quickly gain control of the car as it began heading towards a cliff edge.

He slammed the luxury vehicle into a giant snowbank in a bid to stop the car from spinning out, narrowly avoiding a major accident.

Meredith wrote in the post’s caption: “This photo was taken moments before our driver, Brent, was fortunately able to manoeuvre the car into the snowbank.

“We were headed to crash off of a cliff in Utah.

“This is a reminder to always be grateful and count your blessings. My dear friend and I were in a car accident that could have been far more horrible.

“Kathy, Brent, and I are all okay and safe. Please be careful on the roads, especially during this season with the most snow in Park City that we have seen in decades.”

She added: “Many times in life we dwell on things of little importance rather than being grateful for the positive things that we have.

“I am beyond happy to be alive and well.”

Taking to the comments, the mother-of-three’s son Brooks, 23, wrote: “Love you so much.”

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Shereé Whitfield added: “Oh nooo!!! Glad you all are safe.”
