Legendary actor Tommy Flanagan recently made a lasting impression in Starz’s Power universe after he was introduced as the feared Walter Flynn on Power Book IV: Force. With fans eagerly awaiting the release of season two, the Scottish actor took to social media to announce a new project. Although Tommy Flanagan has been on screens for three decades, he gained a new plethora of fans in his role as Walter Flynn.

As Tommy Egan (played by Joseph Sikora) left New York for Chicago, he set out to become the biggest drug dealer in the Windy City.

However, this proved to be a major issue with drug kingpin Walter, who was the head of the notorious Flynn family in Chicago.

As fans await a season two announcement, the 57-year-old actor revealed he would be starring in an upcoming major crime thriller, Sleeping Dogs.

Jenard Sampson’s Kris D. Lofton also commented with flame emojis.

This was also the case for JP Gibbs star Anthony Flemming III, who took to the comment section with flame emojis.

Fan @joanna.maria.w shared: “I can’t wait for some photos from set if it is possible- definitely a photo of you with Russell. After so many years together on set again. It is wonderful.”

While @powerneverend asked: “Will season 2 mark the end of Walter Flynn?”

Thankfully for fans, there is major detail about Sleeping Dogs, including the fact the film is an onscreen adaptation of E.O. Chirovici’s novel, The Book of Mirrors.

It will follow a “former homicide detective Roy Freeman (Russell Crowe), who in the wake of a cutting-edge Alzheimer’s treatment, is tasked with re-examining a brutal murder case from his past — the grisly murder of a college professor (Marton Csokas).

“Intrigued and fighting to regain his memory, Roy enlists his former partner to help him revive the investigation.

“This time though, things unfold very differently when they encounter a magnetic and mysterious woman (Karen Gillan).

“As he uncovers a tangled web of contradictions and secrets, Roy is forced to face a horrific reality that changes his world forever in the blink of an eye.”

Despite the detailed synopsis, showrunners have remained tight-lipped about Tommy’s role and his upcoming storyline.

This will be the third time Tommy has starred alongside Russell Crowe, as the duo first worked together in the 2000 hit film Gladiator and 2002’s Ultimate Fights from the Movies.

Power Book 4: Force is available to stream on Starz in the USA and on Lionsgate+ in the UK.
