The new and exciting world of Paldea in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet has given players many new game mechanics to catch more strong and rare Pokemon, including Tera Raid Battles.
Classic Pokemon, including Charizard, are making a comeback in these Tera Raid Battles, as well. Make sure to level up your Pokemon and make them as strong as possible, as you will need it to catch your very own Charizard.
How To Get Charizard
In the Paldea region, there are many Pokemon you can find on your journey from previous generations. However, in the case of Charizard, it cannot be conventionally caught in the wild like other Pokemon.
In order to find Charizard, you will instead be given a chance to catch it through a Black Crystal Tera Raid Battle. As you have probably noticed while searching around Paldea, there are many places where you can begin a Tera Raid Battle and gain a strong Pokemon with a bunch of rewards. Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles, however, are much more difficult and will have much higher rewards.
Charizard will be available to players for a limited-time run through defeating the Pokemon in a Black Crystal Tera Raid Battle. These battles will be available in two different sections in the month of December, including:
- December 1st, 2022 at 4 p.m. – December 4th, 2022 at 3:59 p.m. PST
- December 15th, 2022 at 4 p.m. – December 18th, 2022 at 3:59 p.m. PST
These are currently the only times available where you can catch Charizard, but it has been mentioned that the Fire-Type Pokemon could likely be encountered again during other future events.
Black Crystal Tera Raid Battle Tips To Catch Charizard
To be able to catch Charizard when the event occurs, there are a few tips you can follow to make the process easier.
Although you can take on Tera Raid Battles alone, it is best to battle Charizard with friends or other trainers online. If you choose to fight Charizard alone, you will be given automatic computer-generated team members that won’t be as strong as real players online. Try to find a few friends who would like to join in, and choose the right Pokemon for each of you to bring to defeat Charizard. As a Fire and Flying-Type, Charizard is weak to Water, Electric, and Rock. Use these Types to increase your chances of beating Charizard with ease.
It is best to give each of your Pokemon held items as well to increase their abilities. For example, if you give a Water-Type Pokemon a Mystic Water to hold, their Water-Type moves will increase by 20 percent. Whichever Pokemon you choose to take into battle, make sure it is prepared for the fight ahead, so you can take Charizard home with you.
