Pokemon Company creates new Pokemon Works subsidiary

Reports have come out that The Pokemon Company has registered a new trademark/subsidiary called Pokemon Works.

It’s interesting to note this subsidiary will be located in the same building as ILCA, the developers behind the remakes Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. They also worked on Pokemon Home.

This trademark was actually registered one day after Pokemon day this year, but currently it’s unknown what plans the company has for it. Considering it’s location, some believe this will be another studio that will aid Game Freak in developing more titles, such as future remakes.

Infamously the current mainline titles Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were criticized for its numerous bugs and performance issues. So some have also taken this move to be a case of adding more developers which can help keep the development of games on schedule while maintaining better quality.

It’s also entirely possible the new subsidiary will have nothing to do with game development and speculation based on its location are incorrect. But until projects of any nature are announced from them, no one will know for certain.

What do you think of this move? Is this the Pokemon Company taking steps to improve the quality of their games in the future? Or is there something else in the works?
