PlayStation VR 2 Launch Titles Line-Up Revealed By Sony

Eye-tracking is making quite a presence.

Sony has announced 13 more PlayStation VR 2 titles – after announcing 11 back in November – and added that these titles are all expected to arrive within one month of the PS VR2 February 22 launch date, meaning the console will have more than 30 games at or just after launch if we include announced PS VR upgraded titles, as reported on PlayStation.blog.

Before Your Eyes is one that caught our eye, as that seems designed to utilize the PS VR 2 headset’s front-facing camera to immerse players in a new experience where their blinks define story outcomes. Gran Turismo 7 is also going take full advantage of the VR 2 features like eye tracking and foveated rendering, so players will surely have a blast with more than 450 cars available upon launch. It will have a free upgrade to PS VR 2, though it won’t include two-player split-screen races.

Song in the Smoke: Rekindled is also designed for PS VR2 with an all-new free jump and clamber mode unique to the PS VR2, and Kayak VR: Mirage is a visually stunning game that seems to benefit the most from VR 2’s visual fidelity in creating a realistic and believable boat-rowing experience like no other. Rez Infinite is also coming back — thought it doesn’t include a free upgrade — but it will support PS VR2’s eye tracking and haptic feedback from the controllers and the headset, so players will be able to track and aim at enemies in a totally different way from the original PS VR version.

Eye tracking seems to be the name of the game in this launch, as even Tetris Effect is getting it. Players can enter zones by closing and opening their eyes, and haptic feedback as well as similar gimmicks are also supported. Creed: Rise to Glory is also mentioned to have new content and game modes alongside a reworked online PvP, cross-play and optimized matchmaking. This game in particular has its release date set as March 3, but the exact release date of other games within the one-month launch window is not yet confirmed.
