Alongside presenting This Morning, Phillip Schofield hosted Dancing on Ice with former co-star and friend Holly Willoughby.

However, since his step back from the daytime TV show his future on Dancing on Ice has also been put into question.

An ITV spokesperson recently revealed Phillip’s future on the show will be determined in “due course”.

They told Metro.co.uk: “Dancing On Ice isn’t due on ITV until January 2024 and the series is not currently in production.”

They added they will make “further announcements” about the show, including the presenting line-up, despite the show not airing until January 2024.

Whilst Phillip is no longer presenting This Morning, and his future on Dancing on Ice is still being determined, ITV confirmed it would continue their working relationship with Phillip.

Kevin Lygo, ITV’s managing director of media and entertainment, said: “Phillip is hands down one of the best broadcasters of his generation and we thank him for his two decades worth of absolutely terrific television on the This Morning sofa.

“This Morning is made by one of the best and most diligent teams in television, who produce over 12 hours of live television each week.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Phillip starting with The British Soap Awards in June and a brand new peak time series to come.”

Phillip quit This Morning after it was alleged he and Holly were “barely speaking” behind the scenes and their relationship had been tainted.

When rumours of their feud first emerged, Phillip was insistent they were still “best friends” with the pair going through a tough time.

Holly’s future on This Morning is secure, with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary telling viewers that she was on her half-term break and would be returning on June 5.

However, it is not yet known whether Holly will continue her presenting role on Dancing on Ice if Phillip will return to the ITV talent show.

In the days since Phillip’s final time fronting This Morning on Thursday, May 18, it’s been alleged that he and Holly have sought to patch up their relationship and have forged “something of a truce.”

Despite his on-air presenting roles being put into question, it is said that Phillip will still host the upcoming awards ceremony.

A source said: ‘It’s a big Saturday night event with celebrities and a paying public audience in the theatre. It’s happening very soon. What if viewers side with Holly and Phil gets jeered?”

Speaking to The i, the source continued: “It’s a high-risk return for Phil and his presence could overshadow the event.”

Dancing on Ice series 15 is available to watch on ITVX.
