Since Phillip Schofield’s sudden departure from This Morning, the bookmakers believe the host could be “given the boot” from Dancing on Ice.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip presented This Morning together for 14 years before going on to work on Dancing on Ice together.

The ITV host confirmed in a statement on Saturday that he was leaving This Morning after it was reported he was “feuding” with Holly.

Following the father-of-two’s decision, the bookies responded by slashing odds from 4/1 to just 10/11 on him being given the boot from Dancing on Ice.

They went on to predict that Holly will team up with someone else for the upcoming series.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Attention is still very much on who’ll replace Phillip Schofield on This Morning, but the latest odds suggest another gig will soon be up for grabs, with Holly Willoughby likely to get a new co-presenter on next year’s Dancing On Ice.”

In a heartfelt post on Saturday, Phillip wrote: “I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning.

“But recently, This Morning itself has become a story.

“Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.

“I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.

“So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future.”

Phillip concluded his statement by telling his followers he would be back to host the British Soap Awards next month.

He added: “I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month.”

Kevin Lygo, ITV’s Managing Director of Media and Entertainment also released a heartfelt tribute to Phillip, explaining ITV will “look forward to continuing our relationship” with the presenter.

He shared: “Phillip is hands down one of the best broadcasters of his generation and we thank him for his two decades worth of absolutely terrific television on the This Morning sofa.

“This Morning is made by one of the best and most diligent teams in television, who produce over 12 hours of live television each week.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Phillip starting with The British Soap Awards in June and a brand new peak time series to come.”
