The Backrooms update for Pet Simulator 99 is a huge one, bringing with it new pets, new items, and a whole new area – the Backrooms. Explore to find these new pets, just watch out for the traps and puzzles!

Backrooms puzzles and rooms in Pet Simulator 99

The Backrooms can be accessed from any spawn in Pet Simulator 99. Just look for the very spooky building and enter the door.

Once in, you’ll spawn in to a procedurally-generated Backrooms. Every Backrooms should generate the same goodies and sites, however the order and connections will be random. You’ll be walking through seemingly endless tunnels, with many turns to get you truly lost.

Along the way, you’ll find:

  • Breakables areas to farm the new currency
  • Trap and puzzle rooms
  • New Eggs to purchase new Pets

Note that all new items and Pets are only available as long as the Backrooms update is live, so when the event is over, you won’t be able to get them again!

If you’re unhappy with the layout of your Backrooms, you can leave the game and rejoin it. The Backrooms you’ll enter will be a different one.

The puzzles in the Backrooms are rather simple. They mostly consist of bigger rooms with locked doors and green buttons. You may have to partake in small obbies to find all the buttons, but once you’ve pressed them all, you’ll be able to continue.

There are some puzzles that still have yet to be figured out. In the Pet Simulator 99 Discord, the brightest minds are still trying to crack them.

There are 12 new Pets for you to find, but the different varieties of Eggs must be found deep within the Backrooms. Due to the randomised nature of the map, I can’t guide you to them directly, unfortunately.

All the new Pets from the Backrooms event are:

  • Night Cat Terror
  • Ender Goat
  • Creepy Yeti
  • Ender Slime
  • Corrupt Skeleton
  • Corrupt Octopus
  • Ender Hades
  • Creepy Wolf
  • Plague Dragon
  • Bloo Cat
  • Huge Plague Dragon
  • Huge Bloo Egg

Like other Eggs, there is a small chance to get Golden variants of these Backrooms Pets!

To reach the better Eggs to get the rarer Pets, you’ll need to delve super deep into the Backrooms and hope you’re lucky enough to stumble into them!

There will be signs aside the Backrooms Eggs you find which will tell you how much the chance of earning the Huge Pet the Egg gives you has been boosted by. It goes all the way up to 100x, but that Egg is incredible rare…

Here are the new Eggs that I’ve been able to discover, and all the Pets you can earn from them:

Backrooms Nightmare Egg (costs 200 Coins):

  • Night Cat Terror
  • Ender Goat
  • Creepy Yeti
  • Ender Slime
  • Corrupt Skeleton
  • Huge Plague Dragon

Backrooms Gooey Egg (costs 250 Coins):

  • Ender Goat
  • Creepy Yeti
  • Ender Slime
  • Corrupt Skeleton
  • Corrupt Octopus
  • Huge Plague Dragon

The Huge Bloo Cat and the Bloo Cat can only be obtained from purchasing the Backrooms Forever Pack in the Exclusive Store, or through trading.

That covers all the new Pets in the Backrooms event for Pet Simulator 99, but that’s not all that’s been added!

There have been some new items added to Pet Simulator 99, all which can be found in the Backrooms, or purchased from the Exclusive Store.

New Backrooms Item What it does
Corrupt Enchant Corrupts breakables, increasing the damage they receive.
Nightmare Orb Enchant Spawns an orb that attacks rbeakables.
Nightmare Terror Booth A new skin for your trading booth.
Night Horror Hoverboard A new skin for your hoverboard.
Backrooms Key Used to unlock Backrooms locked doors.

Each of these items can be found in the Backrooms. I have yet to find any of them, but they’ll be found as drops from any of the large breakables that can be found as you venture deep into the Backrooms. I would imagine that you’ll have better odds of finding these behind the locked Backrooms doors.

If you spend 25 Robux on the Backrooms Pack in the Exclusive Store, you’ll get a chance to receive any of these items. The pack resets after some days, allowing you to buy it repeatedly in case you didn’t get what you want.

How to get and use Backrooms Keys in Pet Simulator 99

The Backrooms Keys in Pet Simulator 99 can be earned in two ways, and they’ll unlock the locked doors you’ll come across.

You could purchase them from the Backrooms Pack in the Exclusive Store, for 25 Robux. If you’re lucky, you’ll find one for free in that pass, so check to claim a free Backrooms Key!

The best way to get Backrooms Keys, however, is by grinding for them. There is a (very) small chance of getting a Backrooms Key when grinding the breakables you’ll find. After about 15 minutes of solid grinding, I was able to grab one.

I may have simply been unlucky, but they seem to be rather rare. Although if you have strong Pets, this grind will be reduced dramatically. It will be worth to grind for some Backrooms Keys before delving too deep into the Backrooms.

Once you’ve got a Backrooms Key, you’ll be able to unlock the locked Backrooms doors deep into the Backrooms. Behind these doors is a treasure room. You’ll either be rewarded with lots of Diamonds, or you’ll get to choose a mystery treasure. The items granted by the huge treasure chests are awesome, so I hope you get something you want!

There may be other, different treasure rooms behind the locked Backrooms doors, but I’ve yet to come across them.

There’s lots of mystery surrounding the Backrooms in Pet Simulator 99, with the rare 100x Huge Egg and the strange puzzle that players are still struggling over. I wonder what you’ll find.
