Paul Whitehouse has shared details of the new series of Gone Fishing, which he will begin filming with Bob Mortimer very soon. Speaking on This Morning, Paul confirmed the location for the series and touched on how polluted rivers in the UK have become.

This Morning host Josie Gibson asked: “How is he and can we look forward to another Gone Fishing?”

“He’s alright,” Paul replied. “Yes we can Josie. In fact, not long after finishing Only Fools, we start on another Gone Fishing. Dragging it out.”

Craig Doyle probed: “Where are you going? Anywhere exotic?”

“We’re going to a place called the UK,” Paul smiled. “It’s very nice. We’ve been very lucky we’ve been able to showcase the beauty on our doorstep.

They posted on their official Twitter account: “We’re coming back, again and again.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Paul revealed how he carried on performing in the Only Fools and Horses musical with broken bones.

He explained: “Just after lockdown, when we came back and I think we’d done about three shows and I was like, ‘Great, we’re back.’

“And I slipped on the kerb like an old man and landed on my back and I thought, ‘Oh that’s painful, but the show must go on.’

“After about six weeks, it hadn’t gone away and I went to get an X-Ray thinking, ‘Oh I might have broken a rib.’

“But I’d broken a vertebrae, T9. I think it was T9, it’s a crucial one.”

Paul added he went on to perform in the show as Josie exclaimed: “What a hero!”

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am.
