Clash game mode in Overwatch 2, explained

From April 16-29, Overwatch 2 players will get the chance to try out the new Clash game mode before it officially releases in Season 11. You’ll be able to explore the new map called Hanaoka, a beautiful map with cherry blossom trees adorning the battlefield. But how does Clash work?

Clash is a game mode that includes two teams and five capture points in a row with a central point between them that’s unlocked at the beginning of the round. They’re placed in a straight line and Hanaoka will be a mirrored map. You must capture the available point (by standing on it) with no enemies contesting it until it gets completely captured. You’ll then need to push onto the enemies’ two other points and capture those to win.

The opposing team must attempt to defend their points while seeing if they can push back onto the other team’s points. The team who captures all five points first wins. You can also win by reaching a round’s score limit.

Clash is described as a push-and-pull type of game, almost like tug-of-war. You’ll get nearly two weeks to try Clash out before it goes away and eventually comes back for Season 11. Season 10 will arrive on April 16 to include more than just the Clash trial.

The new DPS hero Venture will be available to all players, the LTE Mirrorwatch begins on April 23, and there will also be Mythic Skin updates that allow you to unlock old Mythic Skins. Another thing to note is that Mercy will receive the Mythic Skin for Season 10, which is called Vengeance. Other than Season 10, the beginning of April had Blizzard reintroduce one of the best April Fool’s Day gaming pranks.
