One Piece Episode 1016 Delay, New Release Date, & Time Explained

Last week’s One Piece episode broke the internet with its brilliant direction and animation. Now, fans are waiting to see if Episode 1016 would also give them a similar experience. Well, it looks like the community will have to wait a little longer to watch the next anime episode.

Toei Animation has finally recovered from its server breach and gave us the much-awaited episode of One Piece last week. The episode adapted the legendary 1000th chapter of Eiichiro Oda’s manga series, and the fight between Luffy and Kaido has now begun. Megumi Ishitani’s phenomenal direction made episode 1015 a legendary one, and anime fans can’t get over the episode’s sheer brilliance. Every frame of the episode took our breath away, and the community couldn’t stop talking about it online.

Now, every One Piece fan is eager to find out what Episode 1016 will have to offer, but we’ll have to wait a few more days to get an answer to that question.

One Piece Episode 1016 Delayed

Like before, Toei Animation will follow a weekly release schedule for One Piece anime now that it has returned from its hiatus. However, the anime is taking another week’s break because of the Golden Week in Japan. So, instead of Episode 1016, a special episode titled “Barto’s Secret Room will air in Japan on May 1st that’ll rerun the previous events from the anime.

Also, One Piece anime isn’t the only project that’s affected by the Golden Week. Apparently, several popular manga series like My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen are also on a break because of the same reason.

One Piece Episode 1016 New Release Date & Time

Episode 1016 of One Piece is now scheduled to release next week on Saturday, May 7th, or Sunday, May 8th, 2022. The episode’s release date and time will vary depending on your region. Anyway, here’s when you’ll get the episode in these time zones:

  • Pacific Time: 7 PM PDT (May 7th)
  • Central Time: 9 PM CDT (May 7th)
  • Eastern Time: 10 PM PDT (May 7th)
  • Indian time: 7:30 AM IST (May 8th)
  • British Time: 3 AM BST (May 8th)
  • European Time: 4 AM CEST (May 8th)
  • Japanese Standard Time: 11 AM JST (May 8th)
  • Australia Time: 11:30 AM ACST (May 8th)

You can watch the previous and the upcoming episodes of One Piece on Crunchyroll. The streaming provider hosts the subbed version of the popular anime series. On the other hand, the dubbed version of the anime is available to stream exclusively on Funimation.

Fans are still waiting for the English sub of One Piece to arrive on Crunchyroll after the platform merged with Funimation. But unfortunately, there’s still no news of the dub version moving over to Crunchyroll.

How Far Behind is the One Piece Anime Series from the manga?

When writing this post, the One Piece manga series has released 1047 chapters. On the other hand, the anime series had adapted Chapter 1000 of the manga in Episode 1015. Chapter 1000 of One Piece came out in January 2021, so you could say that the anime series is around one year behind the manga series.

Is One Piece Manga Also on a Break?

Sadly, yes, similar to the anime series, the One Piece manga series is also on a break this week because of the Golden Week. The manga readers would have to wait until next weekend to read Chapter 1048 of the series. However, the community will get some spoilers a few days before the chapter’s official release. In fact, some early spoilers of the chapter are already out to give you a glimpse of the forthcoming events.
