The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer, which means we’ve all got another good reason to shut ourselves up indoors and play some games. But what’s new on Xbox this week? What time sinks will help wile away the long, cold nights?
This week sees Grounded finally get its full release away from early access, though don’t expect it to be anywhere near its final form as the game’s developer is surely already working on future content updates. It’s a great survival game that our very own hard-to-please (he really disliked Stray…) Jack Coleman has played and reviewed, saying that “Grounded is a unique take on a tired formula and is genuinely a breath of fresh air in the space.”
Of course, we can’t let FIFA 23 go unmentioned, especially seeing as it’s the final FIFA game to come from EA. This will be the last time we’ll all hear the familiar “EA Sports, it’s in the game” upon booting up the annual release. It does look like EA is sending the series off in style with a revamped Career Mode, sweeping changes to online and FIFA Ultimate Team, and the addition of numerous women’s leagues. Hopefully these features all carry over to EA’s own footy game that will come next year, though minus the familiar FIFA branding.
And for little gamers, Jake and the pups are back in action with PAW Patrol: Grand Prix. You may knock it as being a Mario Kart clone dressed up in PAW Patrol attire, but Outright Games’ other kart racer, Race With Ryan, was surprisingly good…
