With Black Friday behind us, it means a new week is dawning and new releases will be heading to the Nintendo Switch. What’s new this week? Do you even have any pennies left after splurging on discounted games? Let’s have a look at what new games are out on Nintendo Switch, shall we?
It’s a little quiet on the AAA front, though there is Resident Evil Village Winter’s Expansion which brings a new story chapter to the game which, in contrast to the main game, is played exclusively via a third-person over-the-shoulder viewpoint, more reminiscent of older Resident Evil games. And if the third-person camera is your thing, the Winter’s Expansion also presents it as an option for the main game.
As we’re still in the throes of the FIFA World Cup 2022, and it won’t conclude until late December, Soccer Story could be the winter warmer you’re looking for, though it’s no FIFA 23. Instead of taking players through the leagues in a traditional footy game, Soccer Story is an RPG adventure set in a world where the beautiful game has been outlawed. While the game boasts a full single-player RPG story, players can also hunker down for a more traditional football experience in multiplayer mode. Think Golf Story with less golf and more football and you’ll get the idea.
And our final highlight for this week’s Switch releases is Railbound, a relaxing puzzle game about two dogs traveling the world by train, fixing the tracks as they go. It’s been out on Steam since September 2022 and the reviews have nothing but good things to say about the puzzler.
