Nicolette Stone (Hannah Monson) has always brought chaos with her but her latest ploy may be one of her most dastardly yet.
On today’s episode of ‘Neighbours’ viewers saw Nicolette taking the advice of her mother Jane (Annie Jones). After telling Aaron (Matt Wilson) that he would no longer be able to see his daughter because of his out of control partying with Krista (Majella Davis), Nicolette had a heart-to-heart with Jane who convinced her that separating Isla (Hana Abe-Tucker) from her father, after she’d already lost David (Takaya Honda) would be cruel.
Nicolette apologised to Aaron and the two agreed to put their differences aside and work together to parent their daughter. After Aaron left the room though, viewers saw Nicolette making a note on her phone where she was keeping a record of all of Aaron’s mis-steps. That suggests that she’s quite serious about battling him for sole custody but will she do it?
Could things turn nasty between Nicolette and Aaron?
Nicolette has never been one to consider anyone else’s feelings and she certainly endangered Isla’s life when she incurred the wrath of Veronica (Ellen Grimshaw) after behaving inappropriately with her husband Sasha (Sunny S. Walia). Regardless of her own shortcomings through, Nicolette is fiercely protective when it comes to Isla and we don’t doubt that she’ll drag Aaron through court if she has to.
What else could Nicolette be plotting?
At this stage it’s hard to tell. We understand that she was angry when Aaron disappeared following David’s funeral, but she has to consider that Aaron had just lost the love of his life. She’s also caused friction by allowing Paul (Stefan Dennis) back into Isla’s life, when Aaron was adamant that he didn’t want him around. If Nicolette is preparing to battle for custody, is she about to skip town or could she try and force Aaron to leave Erinsborough?
Is there a chance Nicolette and Aaron will properly work through their issues?
Yes, and we hope that’s the path that Nicolette eventually chooses. Regardless of Aaron’s reckless behaviour, Isla doesn’t deserve to be punished. She needs her father and her mother in her life, and she already knows the pain of losing a parent. The newly released trailer for the upcoming episodes of ‘Neighbours’ suggests that Nicolette may have a new love interest in the shape of Haz’s (Shiv Palekar) sister and that Aaron might be about to embark on a new romance too. Maybe that’s the distraction they both need?
