Moondew Nectar locations and how to use it

One of the hardest materials to come by in Slime Rancher 2 is Moondew Nectar. This sweet and sticky substance has eluded many players due to the limited ways in which it can spawn, and how very little of it is found at any given time. We’ll walk you through where you can find Moondew Nectar, where is the best place to find it, and what you should use this rare resource on.

Slime Rancher 2 Moondew Nectar locations

If you’re on a Nectar hunt then Starlight Strand is the place to be. You can check out our guide on how to get to Starlight Strand if you’re still stuck on the first island. This island is split into two different grass colours, and you want to be on the pink side. You’ll need either the Jetpack or Pulse Wave gear upgrade to get there initially.

You should set out late in the day because Moondew Nectar only spawns at night. Head upwards to the place where Flutter Slimes spawn and have a wander around, as the Nectar will spawn on the ground in clumps of one or two at a time. In particular, the area surrounding the Flutter Gordo Slime has quite a lot around it.

What is Moondew Nectar used for? – Slime Rancher 2

Like all types of Nectar in Slime Rancher 2, Moondew is a type of food for slimes. In this case, it is the favourite food of Flutter Slimes, making them produce double plorts when they eat it. Unfortunately, Nectar isn’t farmable like the other types of slime food, so it’s recommended that you turn your Flutter Slimes into Largo Slimes, allowing them to eat other, more renewable foods.

This makes Moondew most useful for bursting the Flutter Gordo Slime in Starlight Strand, as its favourite food will pop it twice as fast. This means you’ll need just 16 Moondew Nectar to burst it, rather than the 32 regular Nectar you’d need otherwise.
