Dive into the world of post-apocalyptic base-building and infiltration in February.
Developer Behaviour Interactive has revealed the open beta date of its upcoming first-person shooter, Meet Your Maker. Those who would like to dive into some raiding and base-building action will have to chance to play the game during its week-long open beta on Steam. The anticipated title will start welcoming players on February 6, and the developer says that the beta will kick off with an hour-long livestream of developers at the beginning of the event at 11 am EST.
The minute-long open beta trailer of the game also offers a glimpse into Meet Your Maker’s rich arsenal of traps and guards. The video also showcases how the players switch between roles to use the wide inventory of these destructive mechanisms. From fast-moving spikes to vicious beasts waiting for the raider, Meet Your Maker will put players in the builder role to “mastermind devious maze-like Outposts.” The players assuming the role of the raider, on the other hand, will have to gear up to prepare themselves against the deadly traps built and designed by other players.
Meet Your Maker’s unending cycle of base-building and raiding is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is on the edge of complete extinction. In order to evolve and survive, players who take the role of a Custodian of the Chimera need to obtain Genetic Material and outwit the many traps in the player-built Outposts. Architects of the Outposts need to build their constructs with deadly traps and see how they perform during the raids. Meet the Maker’s asynchronous gameplay allows the builders to create their Outposts block by block in first-person level design.
According to the description on the title’s Steam page, those who take the role of the builder will get to “claim plots of land and use a variety of blocks, traps, and guards to extract and protect Genmat while creating a deadly challenge for other players.”
The livestream will be featuring the title’s game designer and community manager alongside the gameplay. Players who participate in Meet Your Maker’s Open Beta will get their hands on the Chimera’s Chosen decal. Those who buy the game later on will get to keep the decal as well.
The new game coming from the developers of Dead by Daylight will make its debut on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on April 3.
