Matt Goss is known for being the lead singer of the boy band Bros with his twin brother Luke. The London-born star is one of 15 celebrities who has signed up for the 20th series of Strictly Come Dancing. Matt, 52, has been paired with Ukrainian dancer Nadiya Bychkova, 33, for the competition and his brother Luke has praised him for “having the guts” to dance.

Matt made his Strictly Come Dancing debut this weekend alongside a host of other celebrities including Kym Marsh, Kaye Adams and Tony Adams.

On Saturday evening, Matt and Nadiya performed the quickstep to Sir Duke and the judges scored them 20 out of 40 points.

He took criticism from the panel like a professional and asked them how he could improve for his next performance.

Surprisingly, cutthroat judge Craig Revel Horwood defended the Bros singer following his live dance, saying: “They’re all being really nasty. That was punchy. It was a really great routine.”

Matt will have to up his game next week if he is to impress Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas.

Explaining why he agreed to take part in Strictly, Matt admitted to Radio Times: “It’s quite a deep answer if I’m honest.

“I was disconnected from the very thing I was in love with, which is music and performance.”

The musician said he wanted to come home to the UK and then he received a phone call from Strictly bosses.

While Luke has his brother’s back, the pair have previously admitted their relationship has been “complicated”.

“I would do anything for Luke,” Matt told MailOnline. “If we both feel a little bit wobbly or vulnerable, we’re there for each other certainly.

“But we know each other so well we know exactly where each other’s buttons are.

“I can honestly say I never want to p*** Luke off, but I have a way of being able to and he has a way of being able to with me.”
