Love Island has come under fire after fans blasted producers for casting 19-year-old Amber Wise and have called for an age restriction to be put into place.
Amber stormed into the villa on Sunday night after entering Casa Amor as one of the six bombshells.
However, fans of the show were left uncomfortable after the two villas went head-to-head in a raunchy challenge with the two teams given tasks to do together and the villa who completed their tasks the fasted won a party that evening.
Amber locked lips with Tyrique Hyde, 24 and body language expert Darren Stanton says there’s definitely a connection.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair, he revealed: “Tyrique and Amber have ‘intimate chemistry between them’ but Tyrique ‘became defensive’ when questioned on Ella [Thomas] romance.
“It’s clear that Tyrique and Amber are attracted to each other. There is intimate chemistry between them. He was very quick to change the subject when Amber asked him about his relationship with Ella.
“He immediately became defensive – he started gripping his hands, playing with his knuckles, and twisting an imaginary ring on his finger. This shows he became nervous.
“He was swift to accept the offer of her staying in his bed. He also seemed to be very impressed when she disclosed who her father was.
“Tyrique became more engaged in his eye contact and hand gestures by moving closer towards her after he discovered she has a famous father.”
But Love Island fans were angered by the challenge and to Twitter to slam the sex position and kissing portion and insisted the age restriction should be increased, which currently sits at 18.
Viewers suggested that the age limit should be raised to 21 and over, arguing that contestants who are younger aren’t mature enough to appear on television and deal with the fame after.
Twitter user @MrLewisVuitton expressed: “There has to be an age restriction. 19 is way too young #LoveIsland.”
@oneceline_ commented: “Love island should have an age restriction. Why are teenagers in the Villa? 21+ makes more sense.”
@CariadBabesss said: “Love Island needs to change their age restriction to 21. Amber is 19 years old she is still a baby.”
Another user fumed: “Nahhh they should have an age restriction like minimum 21. Not Ty cracking on with a 19yo!”
@raayaa1ns penned: “19 and 20-year-olds shouldn’t be on this show, this is so uncomfortable to watch #LoveIsland.”
Clara Jane tweeted: “Nah I don’t like watching a 19-year-old snog grown men on TV, maybe it’s just me”. (sic)
