Scott van-der-Sluis is paired up with Mitch Taylor’s former flame Abi Moores on Love Island, with the two boys clashing during a brutal challenge which will be aired on Thursday evening.

During the teaser clip on Wednesday night’s episode, Mitch, who is coupled up with Ella Barnes, tells Abi and Scott: “You are fake, we are not. You two are together because I didn’t want Abi.”

A furious Abi disagrees with him before Scott swipes: “The only reason none of us wanted to get with Abi is because we felt sorry for you as you’d been single for three weeks.”

The tense trailer ended on Scott’s comment, so viewers will have to wait until Thursday night to find out how Mitch reacts.

Love Island fans flocked to Twitter following the boys’ altercation, with some being left “speechless”.

Olivia shared: “Scott left me speechless. Mitch, you asked for it!” (sic)

Troy added: “Scott is good with the comebacks #LoveIsland.”

Meanwhile, Eejay remarked: “Scott can’t make heaven after that comment.”

Little Miss added: “Mitch should have known better coming for Scott, his one-liners, never miss #LoveIsland.”

Ifedayo penned: “Scott doesn’t bother with padded boxing gloves, he just punches.”

Winne wrote: “Scott is too good. I love him, he minds his business and is composed but if come for him, he’ll obliterate you #loveisland.” (sic)

His comments come in the wake of Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki telling the group they had decided to save Mitch and Ella over Kady McDermott and Ouzy See who were dumped from the island.

Sitting with their fellow Islanders at the fire pit, Whitney and Lochan updated everyone on what happened at the pool party and explained the reasoning for their decision.

Molly Marsh was pleased her love rival Kady had left the show, but she and Zach Noble still don’t appear on the best of terms ahead of the finale.

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
