Neowiz and AMD have released a brand new gameplay trailer for the upcoming souls-like Lies of P, showcasing never-before-seen content from the game in 8K resolution while running on the latest AMD graphics card, Radeon RX 7900 RTX. This exclusive trailer demonstrates the full potential of developer Round-8, the visual quality of its game, and some gameplay aspects compounded by soul-like elements.

The combat scenes within the trailer showcase how boss fights that players will have to go through to progress in the story will be engaging. It also gives an insight into the environments and enemies, which take a few cues from BioShock and Bloodborne. Players will adapt their play style while taking on dreads lurking around each corner. Not only is the combat based on counterattacks and dodge mechanics, it also requires players to show their prowess against various types of enemies.

Players will take the role of a puppet mechanoid, Pinocchio, who will fight through everything on his way to becoming human. Inspired by the stories of original creator Carlo Collodi, Lies of P is set in a dark fantasy world called Belle Epoque, in which the player wakes up at an abandoned train station to start exploring the city of Krat. They will seek Mr. Geppetto, the lonely craftsman who once created Pinocchio as a puppet that resembles him. According to the development team, Lies of P offers an immersive story and a creepy world filled with tension.

Pinocchio will fight against all odds to become a real man while experiencing interconnected quests that take players to multiple endings. Inspired by the Belle Epoque Era in Europe, the city of Krat is filled with fierce enemies lurking in the shadows. Players will also research and combine weapons in a multitude of ways to create something special. With Pinocchio being a doll, players can change parts of his body to gain new skills, which can be used against fighting machines.

Although Game Director Choi Ji-Won recently said that Lies of P is getting closer, it does not have a firm release date yet. The upcoming souls-like action game is due to launch on PlayStaion 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this year. It will also be available on day one for Game Pass.
