Law and Order Organized Crime will make a gripping comeback to NBC next week as Elliot Stabler (played by Christopher Meloni) and his team of detectives take on a serial killer. This time Stabler will tackle the case head-on as he goes undercover in Tag:GEN.

Although Stabler got his start working at the Special Victim’s Unit, the detective has since shifted gears to tackle crime at the organized crime control bureau.

Alongside his skilled team of detectives, the unit investigates crimes related to the mob and other various criminal syndicates.

This includes hardened criminal groups such as the Italian Mafia, “the Westies” of the Irish Mob, Chinese Triads, and Russian Bratva.

This will be the case for the upcoming episode as Sergeant Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt) revealed: “There is a ring targeting gay men in the city.”

During the thrilling promo clip, Stabler listed the group’s crimes as: “Extortion, robbery,” as a worried Ayanna added: “And hate crimes.”

However, Stabler reassured: “We’re going to weed them out.”

After he suggested: “We go undercover,” as the uncertain sergeant hit back: “it’s 20 cases targeting my people.”

To which Stabler stated: “Whatever you need, I’m here.”

Despite his encouragement, the promo clip for Tag:Gen teased a gripping and action-packed episode.

As Stabler suggested he would go undercover, he can be seen strolling through a gay club wearing a fitted black t-shirt, while people around him continue to dance.

Elsewhere in the episode, things will heat up as Stabler and Ayanna will seemingly get close to the perpetrators, as they close in with their guns drawn.

There will also be an attack as an unidentified man can be seen pushing another person to the ground.

This will undoubtedly be a tough case for Ayanna as she identifies as a gay woman who recently became a mother following her marriage to Denise Bullock (Karen Dukes).

Viewers gained major insight into Ayanna’s personal life as her relationship became strained as a result of her demanding line of work.

Their eventual break-up was teased in season one after Denise admitted she was worried about Ayanna’s relationship with Stabler and claimed it would affect their then-unborn son.

After Denise’s nephew, Damon King (Danny Olabi), was brutally assaulted and falsely arrested by two police officers, she revealed the family were planning to sue the NYPD for his lifelong injuries.

Although Aynna supported the family’s decision, Densie demanded she either quit her job or lose her family.

Even though they stayed together and Ayanna kept her job, season three opened up with their separation.

During episode two, she confided in Stabler about being a bad wife, to which he assured her his marriage with Kathy Stabler (Isabel Gillies) only worked because they both made an effort.

Law and Order Organized Crime season 3 continues Thursdays on NBC in the USA.
