This Morning typically explores the current headlines during its news review.

With Phillip Schofield sensationally quitting the show following recent controversies which have dominated news stories for the past few weeks, Holly Willoughby has also been taking a break from the ITV magazine show.

Once again, viewers saw Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary hosting the show on Tuesday in place of the usual presenters.

While the pair did discuss the latest news in the show’s usual segment, fans couldn’t help but notice the latest claims made by Eamonn Holmes about Phillip had been ignored.

On Monday evening, Eamonn appeared on GB News to talk blast “toxic” Phillip, and explained how he believes Holly should also “follow him close out the door”, but the latest rant wasn’t mentioned.

While continuous updates have appeared on most news outlets, This Morning failed to discuss the ongoing controversy.

Fans quickly took to social media to blast the decision, with Twitter user @clsyoshimoo writing: “Am sure there is another story in the news #ThisMorning.”

@Bookwor99854807 added: “They are just going to ignore the biggest news story #thismorning.”

“Big news stories, you all are the story #thismorning,” @criticaltv1 penned.

Speaking on GB News, Eamonn made further claims about Phillip and Holly.

He fumed: “Not only should Phillip go, but Holly should follow him close out the door.

“I don’t think you’ll ever see Holly Willoughby back on the couch. There are people that say for her it’s not about what Phillip did. Financial experts will say it’s about brand protection with her.

“She’s got her company and advertising deals which suspiciously looks like she’s trying to distance herself from Phillip to protect those.”

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
