Buckshot Roulette is the first breakout indie hit of 2024, but the mind behind this lethal game of chance is also behind some other great horror titles. Have you finished Buckshot Roulette and want to check out more games like it? You’re in luck.

Buckshot Roulette was developed by one person, an indie developer named Mike Klubnika. Klubnika makes experimental horror games and primarily distributes them on itch.io, a website dedicated to unique indie games from solo creators and small teams. If you’ve already played Buckshot Roulette, then you should be familiar with the site.

While Buckshot Roulette requires a small payment of $1.20 to download, most of Mike Klubnika’s other games are completely free to play. The only exception is Unsorted VHS, a collection of short horror experiences styled after found footage. This collection costs $2, but it’s well worth the asking price since the content is stellar and each of the five included “tapes” oozes just as much atmosphere as Buckshot Roulette.

Klubnika has four other games available for download on itch.io if you’re looking for something that’s free. Highlights include Concrete Tremor, a short horror game about soviet apartments, and The Other Side a spooky puzzle game where you have to maintain a drill in order to escape confinement. There’s also Carbon Steel, another experimental horror game where you conduct research in a strange facility.

All of these games are also available on Steam as a part of the Unsorted Horror collection, which is free to download. Unsorted Horror includes two additional games too: Tartarus Engine and Control Room Alpha. The former involves an ancient machine, while the latter tasks you with pulling data from a spider nest. Like Buckshot Roulette, each of these experiences can be completed in 15-20 minutes.

Finally, Mike Klubnika has one last free game available for download on itch.io that isn’t included in any collections. Madvent Calendar 4: End of the Line is a holiday-themed horror game that is a part of the Haunted PS1 community, a collection of developers that creates low-res horror games that evoke memories of old PlayStation demo discs. That’s an entirely different rabbit hole, however, but it’s worth looking into after trying out Klubnika’s games.

While Mike Klubnika’s games aren’t too long, they stick with you well after they’re over. Buckshot Roulette has left quite an impression on those who have played it (and those who are begging for a mobile port), and each of his other games will absolutely have the same effect.
