Cheating in videogames has been around since their conception and it’s not going away anytime soon. Arguably, it is as much a part of them as any other element. In Fallout 4, the easiest way to get around the game is by using console commands, and once you know the best ones, you’re unstoppable.
How to open the command console in Fallout 4
Opening up the Fallout 4 command console is simple if you’re playing on a PC. Simply hit the Tilde (~) key, and you will see the box pop up. Now, using your keyboard, you can simply type in your console commands and change a lot of elements in the game. These different commands can be used for both good and evil.
The best Fallout 4 console commands
There are thousands of console commands available to use in the game, ranging from the mundane to the absolutely insane. These are a few of my favourites.
- tgm – This will always be number one on the Fallout 4 console commands list. It toggles god mode and lets you reign supreme, invulnerable and unstoppable.
- tcm—This turns off collision, meaning you can walk through everything. This console command is amazing for discovering new locked points on the map.
- killall – This kills everyone except your companion. You evil monster.
- player.resethealth – Does what is says in the console command. This will reset your health, even in the hardest of times.
- tdetect – With this Fallout 4 console command, you are no longer detected by enemies, meaning you can rob, steal, and kill to your heart’s desire.
- player.additem [item ID] [number] – Insert the relevant item number and the amount you want and it will add it to your inventory. Very helpful for ammo and bobby pins.
- tai – This turns all the AI into zombies. It’s creepy and weird, and I hate it.
- kill [NPC ID] – This will work by either finding the player ID or simply clicking on the player when the console command is open in Fallout 4. It’ll kill them on the spot.
- completeallobjectives [Quest ID] – This one has to be included, and it will complete every step of whatever quest you type into the ID slot. It’s pretty boring, though.
- setav CA_affinity [number] – No such thing as free will when you have a command console. This will set your current companions affinity to the number in the last section of the command.
