Keycards are a mechanic in Warzone that gives you match rewards, in-game rewards, and notoriety. Get caught up with how to use and increase Keycard Rarity in Warzone.

How to get a Keycard in Warzone

You don’t start a match of Warzone with a Keycard. Also, Keycards are currently unique to Rebirth Island. To get a Keycard, you need to go to one of the ten Biometric Scanners on the map.

Interact with a Biometrics Scanner and you’ll get a Keycard added to your Backpack. You’ll get some XP for doing this and if you inspect your Keycard, you’ll see your Operator name, Clan Tag, and Access Level. So, what are Access Levels and why is Keycard Rarity important?

The reason Keycards are important in Warzone is they unlock special menus at Buy Stations. Keycards can be dropped and looted, and the higher the rarity, the better the gear available at Buy Stations.

There are six tiers of Keycard Rarity in Warzone:

  • Bronze – Common
  • Silver – Relatively common
  • Gold – Uncommon
  • Platinum – Rare
  • Polyatomic – Very rare
  • Orion – Incredibly rare

Warzone: How to increase Keycard Rarity

There are two ways to increase Keycard Rarity in Warzone: use the Biometrics Scanner to get your Keycard with squadmates around and acquire a Keycard after a few days.

If you have squadmates around you when you use the Biometrics Scanner, you have a higher chance of getting a rare Keycard. It works similarly to Squad Landing rewards and works synergistically with the Party Bonus XP. Consecutive matches and days don’t improve your Keycard Rarity chance, but acquiring a Keycard after a couple of days will.

All Keycard Buy Station tiers and in-game rewards in Warzone

I keep saying the higher the Keycard Rarity, the better, and it’s because you can unlock better Buy Station menus. Here are all the Buy Station Keycard Rarity menu tiers:

  • Bronze: Random ammunition, Cash ($), Armor Plates, Lethals, and Tacticals.
  • Silver: Random ammunition, Cash ($$), Armor Plates, Lethals, Tacticals, Perk Package.
  • Gold: Random ammunition, Cash ($$$), Armor Plates, Lethals, Tacticals, Perk Package, Plate Carrier, Field Upgrade.
  • Platinum: Random ammunition, Cash ($$$$), Armor Plates, Lethals, Tacticals, Perk Package, Plate Carrier, Field Upgrade, Killstreak.
  • Polyatomic: Free equipment selects at the Buy Station, Weapon.
  • Orion: Free equipment selects at the Buy Station, Weapons, and more.

Also, returning to a Biometric Scanner after a couple of days can unlock weapon camos and other unique in-game rewards. Stay locked in with Keycard Rarities and be sure to use the High-Gain Antenna to your advantage.
