Another Crab’s Treasure has a nice letterboxing effect when targeting enemies. But Souls veterans may want to disable this feature to see more of what’s around them

Another Crab’s Treasure: How to disable letterboxing

While the Letterboxing is a nice little touch to make the game feel a bit more cinematic, it can get in the way a little bit. Luckily, turning it off is a very easy process that can be easily missed if you don’t know where to look.

Simply head over to the settings menu and look for the Gameplay tab. Here you’ll see an option called Focus Letterboxing. If you uncheck this option the letterbox effect will no longer appear. This then opens up the top and bottom sections of the screen a lot more. You don’t necessarily need that much space in Another Crab’s Treasure since threats are pretty predictable. But having a cleaner image is reason enough to turn it off.

Other handy options

The settings menu has plenty of other interesting options to choose from. The Screenshake slider is useful for those who may not want to have the screen move too much when certain actions happen in-game. And Souls experts who want to retain the game’s mystery can opt to disable tutorial messages right away.

But what’s really handy is the Assist Mode feature. This menu has plenty of options that can make this Soulslike a much smoother experience. If this is your first time playing a game like this you can make full use of these features to make the game more enjoyable. Accessibility features are here like the option to reduce damage taken, lower enemy health, and even the option to give Kril a gun.

If certain boss fights like Nephro, Captain of the Guard are proving too difficult, try out some of these accessibility modifiers to make the game more fun for you.
