Scars are an optional cosmetic feature in many RPGs, including Dragon’s Dogma 2, but some scars in this game are special. If you want to remove either your Arisen’s or Pawn’s scars in Dragon’s Dogma 2, here’s what you need to know.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to remove scars
If, after finishing your character creations for your Arisen and Pawn, you don’t like your scars, you can remove them at any barberie. These are the only areas in the game where you can change your appearance. The first one you come across in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is Clovis’s Barberie in Vernworth.
It costs 10,000 Gold to “Give Markings” which is how you edit or remove your scars. You can also buy the Art of Metamorphosis, which is used to change everything about your Pawn or Arisen, from Neomith in the Vernworth Pawn Guild, but it costs 500 RC. Either way, you’ll need to know how to farm Gold and RC fast.
How to remove chest scar in Dragon’s Dogma 2
If your main concern is the chest scar on your Arisen in Dragon’s Dogma 2, know that you can’t remove that. The chest scar is intertwined with the story of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Arisen are ones selected by the dragon, and the dragon’s selection process includes ripping your heart out and eating it, which leaves a permanent chest scar.
You can minimize the chest scar by playing with different skin tones and fur. I’m Beastren and the fur covers it up fairly well. I hardly recognize it anymore, and I’m always wearing armor that covers it anyway since I main Fighter.
How to remove Pawn scars in Dragon’s Dogma 2
After verifying for myself, I can confirm that the scars you add to your Pawn can be removed and edited in Dragon’s Dogma 2, but the scars your main Pawn earns from dying can’t be removed.
Whenever your Pawn dies — fully dies and needs to be brought back by a Riftstone, not just falls unconscious and needs to be revived — they gain scars. Unfortunately, these scars can’t be removed. I went to Clovis’s Barberie, chose to change Markings, and the scars from my Pawn’s adventures can’t be removed.
Look at it this way: Your Pawn embraces their scars. In fact, my Pawn stated in a conversation recently that she’s proud of her scars and wouldn’t take them away because they’re reminders of her adventures. I know the scars may not be to your liking because they are placed randomly and can ruin the innocence of your beautiful character creation, but permanent scars from adventures are a gameplay feature unique to Dragon’s Dogma 2.
