Variety is the spice of life in Helldivers 2, but some mission objectives can be a little tricky to work out on the fly. If you can’t figure out how to pump fuel in Helldivers 2, let me explain everything you need to know step by step.
How to Pump Fuel to ICBM in Helldivers 2
The Pumping Fuel to ICBM mission is confusing as you have little time to figure it out, especially if you’re solo. Before you interact with the terminal, I recommend clearing the area of enemies, as they won’t leave you alone otherwise. The terminal has multiple steps to fulfill; the first is a standard arrow combination.
How to complete the pipeline
Now for the fun part. The objective is to complete the pipeline from the left Fuel Output to the correct location on the right. The description on the right of the screen dictates where the pipe should end. You can scroll through each pipe segment by pressing left or right and choose what piece to use by pressing up or down.
This minigame stumped me because I didn’t realize I could interact with the ‘greyed’ out segments. The only parts you cannot change are labeled with a yellow padlock. Once you’ve completed the pipe, the terminal will automatically move to the next step.
How to turn on valves
The final step of the mission is to turn several valves around the area. These are identified with a letter and number displayed on the terminal. I struggled to find these valves as I looked for wheels on the pipes or walls.
In fact, the valves are these canister-like objects around the area (pictured above). Ensure the letter and number on the valves match the ones on the screen, interact with them, and press either direction. You’ll know the valve is open as the edges will glow yellow.
With all valves open, you can interact with the terminal one last time to complete the objective. This mission is doable solo but is much easier with a group, as they can protect you while you’re using the screen.
