McGeady your way past the defenders in FIFA 23!

The McGeady Spin in FIFA 23 is one of the best skill moves you can use to avoid a defender’s tackle and move your player into space so they can play out a pass to the wings, or continue their run towards goal. It does require a bit of practicing to get right, and of course, you’ll need to know the correct right analog stick inputs to actually perform the skill move. Here’s everything you need to know on this handy skill move.

FIFA 23 McGeady Spin Explained

To McGeady Spin in FIFA 23, you need to flick the right stick the way your player is facing, and then flick it to the left or the right — whichever direction you’d like your player to spin out of the skill move in.

For example, if the player is facing the left-hand side of your screen, you want to first flick the right analog stick left, and then flick it either upwards or downwards. If you flick it up, they’ll finish their McGeady spin facing the top side of your screen. Flick it down and they’ll finish facing the bottom side of your screen.

The McGeady spin is best used when you’re wanting to quickly change direction, like when you’re sprinting down the wing and want to cut into the box. Alternatively, you might want to McGeady spin in the middle of the field, away from an incoming defender’s tackle before passing out to one of your players on the wing.

It’s worth noting that the McGeady Spin is a four-star skill move, and so you’ll only be able to perform this skill with a player who has four star skill moves. With there being a wealth of Icons, One to Watch players and plenty of promos yet to be announced that will bring skilful players to Ultimate Team, you shouldn’t have any problems getting at least one player in your team.

That’s everything you need to know on how to McGeady spin in FIFA 23. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check out our guides on how to La Croqueta, how to ball roll and how to rainbow flick, if you’re looking for some tips on skilling your way through the opponent’s team.
