The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will probably produce a craving for apple-related sweets if you play it long enough. Link apparently has lots of ideas for delicious snacks he can make using the many apples he collects on his journey. Here is our guide with recipe for how to make Hot Buttered Apple in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Apples are pretty much everywhere you look in Hyrule, usually in the red variety. You can also find golden ones, which appear occasionally on the same trees that produce the standard ones. Check our guide on where to find golden apples to learn about a grove of trees that will provide all the apples you can carry.
With apples being so readily available throughout the game, it’s no surprise there are a lot of recipes that utilize them. A lot of them are quite easy, as well. To make Hot Buttered Apple, simply combine Apple with Goat Butter.
As is typically the case, you can either use standard or golden apples. The latter typically produce a slightly better result, but you’ll find success either way. Throw in some additional apples if you want to increase the number of hearts restored, which is what the recipe is good for. You can also try adding ingredients such as the Stamella Shroom or Sundelion to produce versions of the dish that provide neat secondary effects like stamina refills or gloom recovery.
If you’re having trouble finding the other main ingredient, check out our guide on how to get and farm Goat Butter. You’ll have to buy it from merchants, but there are a few of them that carry the ingredient throughout Hyrule and they don’t charge much. You can raise money to buy all the butter you need, just by selling surplus meals you’ve made by cooking apples.
