If you have been lucky enough to pick up the new 5-Star Dendro character, Alhaitham, in Genshin Impact, you’re probably wanting to build up your new team member in the fastest, most efficient way possible. This includes finding Sand Grease Pupa in order to ascend Alhaitham to the next level.
Sand Grease Pupa can be found in the new Desert of Hadramaveth, north of the Great Red Sand. There are 74 in total on the map, and we are going to lead you to each location.
How To Farm Sand Grease Pupa
Similar to other local specialty items, Sand Grease Pupa are often found in clusters across the map, making it easier to farm. Using the image above, we have circled where you can start your farming for Sand Grease Pupa and where to end. This process is the most efficient way to pick up all of them on the map.
We also highly recommend using the 5-Star character Tighnari on your team if you have him, since he can show the location of Sumeru Specialty Items on your mini-map, making your search much less challenging. Even if you don’t have him, though, we are going to go over every location of Sand Grease Pupa next.
All Sand Grease Pupa Locations
Below, you will find every location of Sand Grease Pupa on the Teyvat map. We are going to break them down into clusters to make your search easier.
Sand Grease Pupa 1 Through 5 Near Safhe Shatranj
The first five Sand Grease Pupa can be found on the cliff north of Safhe Shatranj. You can use the Teleport Waypoint on the eastern side to reach this area, and then get on top of the cliff using the Four-Leaf Sigils nearby.
Sand Grease Pupa 6 Through 9 Near Wadi Al-Majuj
To reach the next four Sand Grease Pupa, use the Teleport Waypoint in Wadi Al-Majuj, and then jump across the gap to reach the other side. You’ll find the four nearby to a group of rocks and a torch.
Sand Grease Pupa 10 Through 13 North Of Wadi Al-Majuj
The next four you can find just a bit north from the last four. You’ll find them in the image shown above, with two in the back near the torch and two in front next to some rocks.
Sand Grease Pupa 14 Through 18 Next To Wounded Shin Valley
To find the next five, use the Teleport Waypoint in Wounded Shin Valley. Then, head up to the top of the cliff on the right and go across to the other side. You can use the images above to find them, with three grouped together on the right and the other two on the left near some rocks.
Sand Grease Pupa 19 Through 23 Near The Sands Of Three Canals
For the next five, use the Teleport Waypoint on the eastern side of The Sands of Three Canals. You’ll find them a bit south of the Teleport Waypoint, next to some rocks.
Sand Grease Pupa 24 Through 29 Near Tanit Camps
To reach the next six Sand Grease Pupa, use the Teleport Waypoint south of Wadi Al-Majuj. Head east on the map, where you’ll find the first four next to an Eremite Camp. Then, head a little north to find the next two to the west of another camp.
Sand Grease Pupa 30 Through 31 North Of Passage Of Ghouls
The next two Sand Grease Pupa will be just north of the Passage of Ghouls. Use the Teleport Waypoint near here on top of the cliff, and then jump below to find the two Sand Grease Pupa at the very bottom of the passage.
Sand Grease Pupa 32 Through 40 In Cave East Of Passage Of Ghouls
To find the next nine, head east from your previous location and into the cave below. Follow the path deeper into the cave where you’ll find the first four Sand Grease Pupas, shown in the second and third images above. The next three you’ll find on the left, just a bit deeper into the cave. Head past this area, where you’ll find the last two.
Sand Grease Pupa 41 Through 43 Near Setekh Wenut
You’ll find the next three just past the Setekh Wenut’s battlegrounds, shown in the image above.
Sand Grease Pupa 44 Through 50 Near Wenut Tunnels Entrance
The next seven Sand Grease Pupa can be found by using the Teleport Waypoint near the Wenut Tunnels. Head into the cave, where you’ll find the seven spread around the path, shown in the images above.
Sand Grease Pupa 51 Through 61 In The Wenut Tunnels
To reach the next eleven Sand Grease Pupa, keep heading north through the cave, following the path. You’ll find the first six close to the walls on the path here, on both the left and right sides, shown in the second, third, and fourth images above. As you head deeper into the tunnels, the next two will be on the right of the path. Then, as you enter the open area with a Stonehide Lawachurl, there will be three Sand Grease Pupa towards the entrance.
In the last photo, two of our Sand Grease Pupa were missing as we had already picked them up previously before they could reset.
Sand Grease Pupa 62 Through 70 In Underground Cave Beneath Wenut Tunnels
Inside the open area, there will be a multitude of different entrances. Take the path on the very right, and break open the stone pile to reveal a hole in the ground. Jump through here, where you’ll find the first Sand Grease Pupa next to a Dendro Monument. Head past here, where you’ll find the next three on the left and four on the right just outside a closed-off wooden path. You’ll find one more just below, next to another Dendro Monument and some Anemo Stones.
Sand Grease Pupa 71 Through 74 North Of Qusayr Al-Inkhida’
The last four Sand Grease Pupa you can find by taking the Teleport Waypoint north of Qusayr Al-Inkhida’. Head south, and enter the cave shown by the pin in the middle in the first image. You’ll find them on the path to the left, on the left and right sides.
